Red Sox/Dodgers at The Collesium

115,000 Angry Drunk Dodger Fans I had been looking forward to seeing the Sox play this past weekend. The fact it was in a venue that I would never get an opportunity to see them play in only added to the excitement. We arrived at noon for a 7pm start, it was a full day of tailgating. Something which Dodger fans don’t get to experience. There is no tailgating at Dodger Stadium, so this was a clear novelty. All I can say is that they don’t allow it for a reason! I have been to a lot of games, but these fans were rough! Something you have to respect on some level, but man it was rough. I have been to Oakland during the playoffs and that was bad. I have been to Yankee Stadium and that wasn’t that bad. The Dodger fans were by far the most ruthless of all. I don’t know if it was because they were drunk, or if they are normally that ferocious. Either way you got to respect their fandom!

Boston Sports Fans!

Today is the season opener for baseball. The Red Sox play the A’s in Japan. I am so excited I am going to be up at 3 am to watch the game. This will ultimately kill me during the day, but it is that important for me to be there! I accept the fact I am a huge fan unfortunately so is everyone else, and people hate it! Or I should say us. That’s why it is time. Time for us Boston sports fans to start acting like we have been there. We are acting like Yankees fans! Smug, privileged, cocky sports fans. I think the difference is we are louder and a bit more obnoxious. The sad part is it is all true! Our jubilation and sheer joy from winning (anything) was welcomed by others because it was genuine. As time has gone on, we got a little confident about winning and it was nice, we have never had a reason to be confident. But we have been winning for awhile, and we haven’t changed our tune and people are sick of hearing about it. So I say don’t change, still be excited, and still be confident, but lets do it privately! 5 years ago Tim Wakefield gave up that bomb to Aron Boone, and it was horrible. 85 yrs and nothing but pain. Just think about this. THIS IS THE 100TH SEASON FOR THE CUBS!!!!!!! 100 years and no World Series, I am going to watch Cubs games just for that fact alone 100 years of not winning……Lets tone it down, and cheer louder for those guys!
